These jump helmets were made on the basis of tanker helmets which in turn were inspired by civilian models of motorsport and racing motorcycles. These tanker helmets were conceived to equip mechanized troops, especially the crew of the DL-43 medium tank whose development was born in 1942.
The difference between the cylindrical tanker helmets and the parachute one was that the first had a rubber cushion band around it and the lateral leather retained the earphones like the aviation helmets. The second models of tank helmets came perforated in the American WWII style, which was the model widely used in armored units and in the ETM (School of Mechanized Troops).
Along with these cylindrical helmets, the Argentine paratroopers used some other models of helmets for jumping, training, and parade. which includes a rare leather pilot type, and the British style "Sorbo Rubber" along with Irving type parachutes.
These iconic cylindrical helmets were not designed for combat, but for jumping. However, during its time the army used the Swiss model 18, whose type of chinstrap bales appear attached to this helmet paratrooper helmet or ETA (School of Airborne Troops).
