Casco. M1 con o sin funda Woodland
Armas.
FAL, M3 Grees Gun , FAP.

Argentine Army Infantry in May 1982.
The natural aesthetic that characterized the Argentine infantry soldier in the 70's and early 80's had differentiated from the kind of aesthetics that reigned in the Prussian Army decades ago.
Like many NATO troops, they still wear the two-piece olive green uniform. The only camoflage element is the cover of the helmet. It had a clear turn to the U.S. Army type of equipment but may share details with any European army like the Belgian, German or Italian Cold War.
The intent is that this information serves as a guide for those interested in historical reconstruction of the Argentine infantry: The Argentine infantry wore olive green pants with two pockets on the thighs, green shirt, jersey and M43 American type jacket ancestor is the Model 51 (Korea) and 65 (Viet Nam)
It was all very thick fabric, but not impervious to water and moisture, so characteristic of the Falklands. Note that the crowning touch on these pieces would be to wear the Israeli Bubon parka with hood and fabric sleeves with the M1 helmet and goggles for the more stereotypical look of an infantry soldier.
Most of the ground troops that Argentina deployed were young soldiers who were serving the country with compulsory military service. This is why they lacked gear, equipment and tactics of professional soldiers or special forces like the British .
Equipment:
It consisted of a full green leather harness consisting of: belt, carving 'H', two chargers FAL carries two units, carrying pouch and bayonet blade.
The least had the option of carrying the same equipment but in green nylon.
High boots with reinforced soles in the toe of good quality were even a part coveted by the very British troops.
The M1 helmet was the kind NATO and by that time was produced in large quantities in Argentina. This helmet could bring a more grounded in Woodland camouflage goggles widely used to counter the freezing cold in the eyes.
Uniform:
Any olive green pants with thigh pockets. 43 can be the model American. The jacket is a model 43 or 51 from the U.S. Army. There is a similar version that is Austrian.
Equipment:
Any carves "H", 70 years may be Spanish, American Canvas Model 56 (Nam) or the more modern but replaced the nylon, the model 67 of the U.S. Army as well.
Boots. Any high cane boot with eyelets or snaps.
Helmet. M1 with or without cover Woodland

Malvinas Era, Military Surplus:
A classic undergarment is the Ballenera which was used for a long period. Generally the soldiers each had 2 white ones. The photo on the right, from a magazine of the era, shows a Ballenera peaking out from under a uniform. The photo on the left is is from an online surplus store where these can still be purchased.

According to Chris McNab in "Modern Military Uniforms" the L1A1 was heavy and unwieldy for smaller men so often the Gurkhas used the US 5.56mm M16 assault rifle in Borneo and other British small wars.
